The Cake Race is back!

Sunday 22nd April 2012 - High Littleton Recreation Ground

Cake Race

The High Littleton Cake Race is now in its second year and is being jointly staged by Bo Peep Pre School and High Littleton C of E Primary School, aimed at children and adults alike, we aim to involve the wider community to get everyone on the move. Finishers won’t receive medals, instead everyone gets a cake!

Three races for different age groups combine to make up the Cake Race celebrations; a mini fun run for five years and under starting at 10.30am, a 1km race for six to 11 year olds starting at 11.00am and the main event, a 5km multi-terrain race for runners aged 11 to 111. This main race starts at 11.30am.

Runners can enter on the day with participants of the two shorter races being asked to raise sponsorship where possible, with a minimal entry fee of £2.00. The cost for entering the 5km multi-terrain race is £7.00 on the day, or £5.00 if you take the option to pre-enter.

Organiser Josie Griffiths says “We’re staging this event to get the whole community moving. Whether participants sprint, jog or stroll, we want everyone to have fun by getting active as a community.”

“Most running events offer T-shirts, medals and energy drinks. We’re proud to be different and believe that great cake can motivate everyone to enjoy a great race.”

Refreshments and entertainments will also be part of the day.
